50 things children must do before they are 10!

This list could be adapted to suit any place where children abide and it is infinite - Learning by Doing!

1. Read Storm Boy before heading to the Coorong.

2. See the scoreboard tick over at Adelaide Oval and learn the Don's career batting average off-by-heart.

3. Eat a pie floater with lots and lots of sauce.

4. Go on a tour of Government House and learn about Dame Roma Mitchell (Hint: her statue is out the front).

5. Snorkel through a school of fish on Port Noarlunga reef.

6. Climb in and around a Moreton Bay fig in the Botanic Park.

7. Walk over the causeway and all the way around Granite Island - you're sure to see a penguin or maybe even a seal.

8. Go whale watching at Bashams Beach at Port Elliot.

9. Pick and eat your weight in strawberries at Beerenberg Farm, Hahndorf.

10. Find and swim in the rock pool at Stokes Bay on Kangaroo Island.

11. Catch a local tree frog tadpole in Brown Hill Creek.

12. Wave through the underwater windows at Burnside Swimming Centre's middle pool.

13. Get your parents to take you to a Dawn Service on Anzac Day.

14. Watch a Wanderer butterfly come out of its chrysalis. It's probably happening in your backyard right now.

20. Read all the plaques of the famous South Australians in the pavement on North Tce, city.

21. Eat a mint leaf to understand how Mint Patties got their name.

22. See the cow patty throwing at the Mt Compass show.

23. Fish for squid off the jetty at Second Valley.

24. Watch the Port River dolphins play.

25. Ride a paddle boat on the River Torrens.

26. Challenge your friends to a crab-raking competition at St Kilda

27. Get knocked over by a wave at Middleton and get back up.
