"From Packets to Containers!"

Even as Winter makes its mark, the garden is still a place to experience the wonder of nature, discover cold climate produce i.e. strawberries and add a little soil and water to the struggling plants! The Environment Team have placed Posters around the school, encouraging students to take their chips, etc. out of the foil packets and put them in a re-usable container, before bringing the snacks to school!
Meanwhile, the “Let’s Cook and Create” students are appreciating the harvest of fresh parsley and mint, for their delicious Rice Paper Rolls!

Away with foil!

The mild Autumn weather has provided a relaxed environment for the students to enjoy the garden; whether this be topping up soil in the beds, watering the dry pot plants, gathering up the debris, finding ingenious ways to carry more than one bucket or sampling the fresh peas, beans and even a carrot! The Environment Team meanwhile, has devised a plan to keep the playground free of Chip packets, by placing boxes in each Stage and encouraging students to place the empty packets in the Box! The Stage with the most chip packets, will receive an reward! The Team is working on an even more efficient means of ensuring that less foil packets are brought to school!
