Easter Arrives Early at Lalor Park Community Garden!

 

The Environment Team celebrated the end of Term 1, with a visit to the Lalor Park Community Garden and brought the Easter spirit to the garden with a presentation to Mrs Lewis of a large hand-painted Easter egg, nestled in a basket!

Cherry Tomatoes from Compost to Rocket Sandwiches!

"From Little Things Big Things Grow!"

The compost made from veggie scraps, in Bluey's Patch and collected in the Crunch and Sip Buckets, resulted in Cherry Tomatoes, which were used to make Rocket Sandwiches during a Let's Cook and Create session and in the words of one student: "Well, how good is this!"

 

Harvest Time ... please form a queue!

 

On returning to Bluey's Patch, the students observed a change in plant growth and some cherry tomatoes and carrots (albeit, somewhat misshapen!) ready for harvest! The watering activity, proved to be the most popular!
