Environment Team - Term 3, 2019!

The Term Three *Environment Team had a big smile for the camera, as they took on the job of guiding their fellow students through the changes in the garden area! However, there is still weeding and watering to be done and the birds are grateful that the students are ensuring there is fresh water in their Bird Bath! Meanwhile, the “Let’s Cook and Create” students used a creative method to identify Capsicum, Lettuce, Cucumber, Olives and Bananas, to rustle up a healthy snack and drink!
*Ana (Yr 5) will also join the Team; on her return to school … Marcus (Yr 5) has kindly offered to do her job, in the interim!

The Environment Team - Term 2, 2019

The Term Two Environment Team has begun their work in earnest by tackling a problem with the Compost Bin. It seems that fruit scraps which are put into the Crunch & Sip buckets make it too heavy for the students to be able to spin the barrel! They are requesting that fruit be cut into pieces, especially whole apples, or a different choice of fruit be sent with the students, e.g. bananas and mandarins, which are conveniently encased in their own soft skins.

The Orchard, received an addition of a Flowering Cherry Tree, donated by Mrs Brandwood (Lukas - Stage 2 and Kaelen - Stage 1) and appreciated by all students! Thanks to Mr Fuller for the correct placement and planting of the tree! It will need regular watering and care and the students will see to that, as they do, with the other plants in the garden!

The Environment Team - Term 1, 2019

The Environment Team, for Term 1, wasted no time in making their presence felt in the garden! There was digging, watering, seed-saving and some serious weeding to do … it is always important to pull out the roots of those dead plants, even if it means calling on some extra help … a job well done!
